North and South Carolina State Director

The American Conservation Coalition is building the conservative environmental movement to realize a cleaner, more prosperous world that fosters collaboration in the pursuit of environmental conservation. Our growing team operates with excellence, executing our theory of change across grassroots, grasstops, communications, and administrative functions.
The North and South Carolina State Director role reports to the Vice President of Grassroots and is responsible for leading efforts to expand membership, establish and support branches, and organize engaging events. This is a full-time, virtual role that can be based anywhere within North Carolina.

Responsibilities
- Membership Growth: Spearhead efforts to expand ACC membership across North Carolina (primary) and South Carolina (secondary)
- Branch Development: Establish new branches and provide ongoing support and coaching to existing branch leaders
- Event Planning & Support: Develop, organize, and support engaging branch events that strengthen community and advance ACC’s mission
- Recruitment Efforts: Lead recruitment initiatives both in-person and digitally, with a primary focus on North Carolina campuses and communities
- Social Media: Monitor and assist branch social media accounts and manage official State Instagram platforms
- Grassroots Advocacy: Connect members with advocacy opportunities and represent ACC in meetings with legislators and community leaders
- Administrative: Maintain accurate state membership and branch data, participate in staff and departmental calls, and contribute to organizational excellence
Qualifications
- 2+ years of grassroots-related experience, community outreach, or related fields
- Interest in advancing conservative environmental solutions and building a values-driven movement through community and volunteer engagement
- Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteer branch leaders across campuses and in local Young Professional communities
- Proficiency in communication and digital organizing tools, including social media platforms, Google Workspace, and basic data management systems (e.g., spreadsheets, CRMs)
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, including occasional evenings and weekends for events
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: The range for this position is $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience
- Insurance: Medical insurance options are covered 100%. 99% coverage of dental and vision insurance. Short-term disability and life insurance are also offered at 100% cost coverage
