ACC & Hamm Institute Kick Off 2026 Energy Freedom Tour at Ohio State
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) and the Hamm Institute for American Energy launched the 2026 Energy Freedom Tour at The Ohio State University today, bringing students together for a conversation about energy, innovation, and the jobs that will help shape Ohio’s future.
With Ohio energy producer Ascent Resources as the keynote sponsor, alongside participation from Google, American Electric Power, First Solar, Oklo, and the New American Industrial Alliance, the event gave students a direct look at the industries, technologies, and career paths driving Ohio’s energy future.
ACC President Chris Barnard said: “The future of the energy industry is especially important in Ohio. Between nuclear energy innovation, American-made solar panels, and oil and gas production, Ohio will continue to play a major role in the American energy story.”
Hamm Institute Executive Director Ann Bluntzer Pullin said: “It was encouraging to see so many students engaged in today’s conversation at Ohio State. Ohio is well-positioned to help meet the country’s growing energy needs, but that will take talent. Building that workforce starts with helping students see the range of careers that support this sector, from engineering and manufacturing to technology and skilled trades.”
During the event, students had the opportunity to sign up for The Legacy Center, an energy jobs board for graduates seeking careers in the industry. The next stop on the Energy Freedom Tour will be at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on April 24. To learn more about the tour, visit this landing page.
