For a cleaner, more prosperous world, ACC mobilizes conservatives around environmental issues, fostering collaboration in the pursuit of environmental conservation.
Happy Thursday Friend! This week we’re highlighting a bee-themed educational event, providing an opportunity for you to move into advocacy, celebrating a MABA win, and reflecting on how to remain calm when the world is nervous about new technology.

WHAT BUSY BEES

On February 7, more than twenty ACC Sam Houston State University Branch members took an hour road trip to Navasota, where they toured an apiary to see what the buzz was about.
They learned about the step-by-step process of modern beekeeping, its history, and the importance of bees. They were impressed to learn the complex organizational structure of bees within the colony and how it applies to the environment as a whole.

MAKE AMERICA BEAUTIFUL AGAIN IS ON THE MOVE
In the latest conservation news, the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission has officially begun advancing its strategic agenda, MABA 250, to conserve America’s natural beauty and expand outdoor recreation opportunities for generations to come. Chaired by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, the commission will guide conservation policy over the next 250 years, balancing stewardship with economic growth while protecting lands, waters, and wildlife across the country.
ACC is proud to be a part of the coalition behind the Make America Beautiful Again executive order signed in 2025, and we’re excited to see the MABA Commission now meeting and moving forward with real priorities on the ground.
Learn more about how ACC is helping shape the future of Make America Beautiful Again and how you can get involved.

FROM THE HIVE
This week we’re welcoming a new board member, Eli Lehrer, on our blog.

THE BULLY PULPIT
In this week’s edition of The Bully Pulpit, I use a story from my own forest to reflect on and challenge the modern reflex toward technological fear. Drawing on the rural American tradition of testing tools by consequence, I argue that new technologies like AI should be judged in the field, not dismissed in panic. It’s a call for disciplined optimism rooted in stewardship, responsibility, and human flourishing.
What makes this important is that minerals are no longer treated as just a defense issue or just a trade issue. They are an energy issue, an economic issue, an innovation issue, and an everything issue.
