ACC Polling Indicates Strong Rural Support for Clean Energy

WASHINGTON – The American Conservation Coalition, in collaboration with Echelon Insights, released polling indicating that young conservative voters in rural areas support clean energy and conservation efforts in their communities.

Young conservative voters in rural areas overwhelmingly favor a shift toward clean energy, citing energy independence and climate change as the main determinants. Additionally, over three-quarters of respondents support sustainable agriculture and expanding access to clean energy options for consumers in rural areas.

However, only 39% of those surveyed feel that government leaders are willing to listen to their concerns on environmental and energy issues.

ACC President Chris Barnard said: “The data proves what we already know: Young conservatives have embraced clean energy and want a cleaner future. Rural communities are ready to revitalize and diversify their resources to invest in clean energy. It is crucial that candidates listen to young conservative voters and deliver on climate and clean energy.”

Our survey shows the undeniable truth that, regardless of geographic location, young Americans are passionate about protecting the environment and expanding their access to clean energy.
