TCC and CEN Conduct National Climate and Clean Energy Poll
WASHINGTON — The Conservation Coalition (TCC), in partnership with Conservative Energy Network, today released results of a national survey that examines likely voters’ attitudes toward clean energy and climate issues.
The survey, conducted online by Glen Bolger of Public Opinion Strategies, polled 1,000 respondents across the nation, with over-samples in four key swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Respondents, all likely voters, were asked questions about clean energy, climate change, and the importance of these issues to their vote ahead of the November election.
Notably, 81% of respondents aged 18-34 said climate change is “very important” to their vote, and 90% of respondents aged 18-34 said they favored the government taking steps to accelerate clean energy development and use.
85% of GOP respondents aged 18-54 said they would be more likely to support a Republican candidate who embraces an innovation-based approach to addressing climate change. Additionally, a clear majority of respondents favor a free-market approach to providing more clean energy production, rather than government mandates, subsidies or the levying of a carbon tax.
Vice President of Government Affairs Quill Robinson said: “It’s obvious that young voters are hungry for innovative climate change action and will only support candidates who take this issue as seriously as they do. TCC looks forward to continuing to empower our activists to call on their elected officials to support effective, actionable solutions.”
CEN President Mark Pischea said: “The electorate as a whole today is remarkably in agreement about the importance of clean energy to our economic and environmental future — as well as on the need for government action. The time has come for an end to ping-ponging partisan policy. Instead, voters across the country are calling on our leaders to develop enduring bipartisan solutions to ensure a clean energy transition that unleashes the market without creating new government spending or burdensome regulations.”

Methodology: Public Opinion Strategies completed the online survey of 1,000 likely voters nationwide. The survey was conducted October 5-8, 2020, with a confidence interval of +3.53%.
