The American Conservation Coalition Hires National Policy Director

WASHINGTON — The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) has hired Chris Barnard to serve as the organization’s National Policy Director.

Barnard is a graduate of both the University of Kent and the London School of Economics and Political Science. After founding the British Conservation Alliance (BCA) in 2019, Barnard co-authored Green Market Revolution, a book on free-market environmentalism that was published earlier this year.

ACC President Benji Backer said: “ACC is thrilled to welcome Chris Barnard to our team as National Policy Director. Chris has been one of the most innovative policy minds in the growing movement for common-sense environmental solutions. We’re truly looking forward to his vision and insight.”

Regarding his new position at ACC, Barnard said: “Just 18 months ago, I found my political home at the American Conservation Coalition. Inspired by ACC, I embarked on my own journey to change the narrative on environmental issues, founding the BCA and publishing a book. Officially joining the organization that started it all is an incredible honor, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Barnard will relocate to Washington D.C. this month and will officially begin on September 1.
