ACC Announces House of Representatives Support for the American Climate Contract
The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) formally announced support for the American Climate Contract from key representatives today.
The American Climate Contract is the first-ever conservative climate platform. Its supporters include top conservation, policy, conservative grassroots organizations, and now members of House of Representatives. By unleashing the power of American innovation, the United States will lead the world in responding to climate change and create unprecedented economic prosperity.
Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) said: “As we look to rebuild our nation, I believe we have an opportunity to do so while creating a cleaner future for all Americans. That’s why I am excited about efforts like those of the American Conservation Coalition, which will build on the energy and economic renaissance that the United States has been leading for years. Conservative plans for the environment, as this contract does, understand that lasting and effective environmental progress depends on American innovation and exporting that technology around the world – not on enforcing debilitating taxes or punitive mandates. The spirited momentum created by this group of young activists is just what America needs to rebuild and come back stronger.”
McCarthy is joined by the following colleagues in supporting the American Climate Contract:
-
House Energy & Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (OR-02)
-
House Select Committee on Climate Crisis Republican Leader Garret Graves (LA-06)
-
Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05)
-
Representative John Curtis (UT-03)
-
Representative Don Bacon (NE-02)
-
Representative Bruce Westerman (AR-04)
-
Representative Tom Reed (NY-23)
-
Representative Mike Gallagher (WI-08)
-
Representative Bryan Steil (WI-01)
ACC Vice President of Government Affairs Quill Robinsons said: “The American Climate Contract represents a fundamentally new approach to addressing climate change. We are bringing grassroots activists, policy experts, and political leaders together to fight for solutions that will work. We’re grateful for the incredible members of Congress who are championing real climate solutions.”
This announcement comes after a five-day advertisement from ACC Campus on Fox News, calling on Congress to rebuild sustainably. ACC looks forward to working with these representatives to implement actionable climate policy in Congress.
